This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled The Seashell designed from a painting by William Adolphe Bouguereau shows a mother holding a seashell up to her daughter's ear so that she might hear the sounds of the ocean.  There is a look of wonderment on the child's face as she listens intently and actually thinks she hears the sound of the ocean.  This will leave a lasting impression on her and is something she will never forget.  The artist is highlighting everyday pleasures we often take for granted.  This would be a beautiful stitch for those who love the ocean or anything nautical.  Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. We only use an abundance of solid colors as it produces a more realistic effect.
