This lighthouse counted cross stitch pattern entitled Point Vicente Light shows the lighthouse joined by nearby palm trees residing on a cliff overlooking the Los Angeles Harbor of California. Owned by the United States Government and managed by the National Guard, its main purpose was to guide ships around the perilous waters around the Palos Verdes Peninsula.  The most unique feature about this lighthouse is its Fresnel rotating lens that was created with prisms.  The lens was made in France by one of the oldest lens manufacturers in the world.  The lighthouse also used to have a loud foghorn used to warn ships of upcoming danger, but the foghorn was eventually dismantled in 2000.  This would be an interesting lighthouse to stitch!  Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used in our patterns. We only use an abundance of solid colors as it produces a more realistic effect. Only full cross stitches are used in our designs.
