This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Skating View designed from a painting by Jan ten Compe shows families out on the ice enjoying skating on a crisp winter's day. The blades of the windmill in the background are slowly churning and we can see several church steeples. The sky is cloudy except for a lake of blue in the sky which the thick and heavy clouds have not concealed. It's a wonderful day to enjoy this favorite pastime! Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. Instead, we only use an abundance of solid colors to produce a more realistic effect.
