This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Byron in Venice designed from a painting by Ivan Aivazovsky shows the ship that was abandoned by survivors due to a tremendous storm and the encounter of the Ninth Wave.  The sky is spectacular, calm and dramatic in this scene with light areas and a dark foreboding area to the right that could be a signal for the upcoming storm.  The storm I am referring to would go onto ignite the wave that caused a shipwreck.  The sunset has created a shimmering glaze over the water.  This beautiful pattern is certainly worthy of stitching, including The Ninth Wave which technically is the sequel.  Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. We only use an abundance of solid colors as it produces a more realistic effect.
