This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Dedham Lock and Mill designed from a painting by John Constable shows a scene of the lock and mill dated around 1820 with the River Stour in the foreground and St. Mary's Church can be seen in the background.  The mill itself belonged to the artist's father and the artist often painted the mill in other works.  Large shade trees can be seen to the right where animals are seeking shelter from the heat and sun.  This is such a picturesque scene so serene and lovely.  It would make a wonderful finished stitched piece to be showcased in your dining room or any other formal area of distinction where it will definitely be noticed.  Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. Instead, we only use an abundance of solid colors to produce a more realistic effect.
