This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Mehemet Ali Viceroy of Egypt designed from a painting by Auguste Couder shows a portrait of Mehemet Ali, a powerful leader and also known as the Father of modern Egypt during the Ottoman Empire who was credited for making Egypt a more independent state. He was of Albanian descent and ruled Egypt as viceroy from 1805 until 1849 until his death. He used sweeping reforms to gain power and increase revenues, and promoted education, improvement of public health and irrigations systems, and a whole host of other benefits for the people in his country. He rose up the ranks to become the official representative of the Sultan and was called Pasha. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. Instead, we only use an abundance of solid colors to produce a more realistic effect
