This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Napoleon at the St. Bernard Pass designed from a painting by Jacques-Louis David depicts Napoleon as a heroic gallant commander leading his troops through the St. Bernard Pass in May of 1800. The scene exudes power, stamina and a leader in control of the situation. The horse is shown rearing upward which means the horse too is powerful and full of strength. Napoleon's cloak is seen billowing in the wind which shows movement and verve in the scene. The sky is beyond clear with heavy clouds and only small patches of blue are seen; however, the apparent strength in Napoleon's demeanor shows he is impervious to whatever he has encountered in nature and rides onto victory in spite of threatening clouds. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. Instead, we only use an abundance of solid colors to produce a more realistic effect.
