This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Queen Herodiade designed from a painting by Jean-Joseph Benjamin Constant shows the woman who was instrumental and played a major role in the execution of John the Baptist in the New Testament of the Holy Bible.  Queen Herodiade was, in fact, the unlawful wife of Herod and was formally the wife of Herod's brother.  She had her daughter perform a dance for the king, and she danced so well for him, that he told the queen he would give her anything she asked.  Fatefully, she asked for the head of John the Baptist, and her wish was granted.  Even though she committed this crime, it was a necessary act in the fulfill of divine destiny.  Here she is portrayed by the artist in an orientalist style.  Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. We only use an abundance of solid colors to produce a more realistic effect.
