This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled The Spirit of War designed from a painting by Jasper Francis Cropsey shows an intense war scene over rugged terrain. A castle that is unmovable and impenetrable high on a hill symbolizes the stalwart resiliency of strength during warfare. The mountains are so high that a ring of clouds are gathered at their base and dark clouds looming overhead signal destruction outside the castle. In the distance a settlement burns suffering defeat, and a mother shielding her child is scurrying away to take cover. There is a lot of action going on just by the surrounding environment. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. Instead, we only use an abundance of solid colors to produce a more realistic effect.
