This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Hope designed from a painting by George Frederick Watts shows a woman who is blindfolded sitting on a large globe playing a lyre with broken strings all except one.  The woman symbolizes hope in times of despair which she cannot see due to being blindfolded, but persists in believing the world is not devoid of hope in situations of great sadness.  I love the glow and metallic sheen in gold and green in this setting, and the textures in the background and globe are in contrast with the smooth sheen on the woman's body.  This is a beautiful pattern indeed!  Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. We only use an abundance of solid colors as it produces a more realistic effect.
