This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Ophelia designed from a painting by John Everett Millais shows Ophelia who apparently was driven to madness over her lover (Hamlet) murdering her father that she either committed suicide by drowning or she fell into the water causing her own accidental death.  Either way, it is unfortunate.  Her intense grief over the situation has resulted in her death.  This theme is from a Shakespearean play called Hamlet.  The flowers in this scene have a significant meaning or symbolism.  For instance, the poppies mean death, and the violets around her neck stand for a life gone too soon.  Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. We only use an abundance of solid colors as it produces a more realistic effect.
