This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Venus Verticordia designed from a painting by Dante Gabriel Rossetti shows a woman who represents Venus surrounded by flowers, the rose represents love and the honeysuckle which represents lust and sexual desire.  The golden fruit Venus is holding is a symbol of the fruit in the Garden of Eden when Eve was tempted by Satan in the form of a serpent.  With Venus holding the golden fruit, she could also be sending a message to warn us about obsession with sexual desires which led to the downfall of Adam and Eve in the garden.  Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. We only use an abundance of solid colors as it produces a more realistic effect.
