This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled A Cottage in a Cornfield designed from a painting by John Constable shows an aged fence with a welcoming gate enclosing acre of thick tasseled corn. The welcoming gate beckons the eye to look beyond it to the quaint little cottage further back with the sloped roof and minimalist windows. The sky overhead is a vision of soft pastels highlighted by the sun's golden light which illuminates the chartreuse colors of the corn's tassels. Tall trees flank the right side of the scene looking like guardsmen protecting all that is within the fence. This bucolic scene is poetry in the making! Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. Instead, we only use an abundance of solid colors to produce a more realistic effect.
