This fine art counted cross stitch pattern, entitled Fjord Landscape, is designed from a painting by Karl Kaufmann. It depicts a scene of the Norwegian fjords, featuring rugged mountains and a colorful landscape, with a curtain of sky filled with lavender clouds against a robin's egg blue background. The mountains are mammoth when compared to the small watercrafts floating on the calmness of the lake. One can see just how large these mountains are when compared to the small row of homes in the background, as well as in comparison to the boats on the water. Large boulders flank the lake, creating points of interest in the scene. A grand-scale scene like this deserves to be stitched in large scale. Therefore, that is the reason for the large size of the pattern, and it would work well in a family room where other pictures are scarce, thus creating a feeling of dominance and thought-provoking conversation. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. Instead, we use a variety of solid colors to achieve a more realistic effect.
