This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled View of the Valkhof in Nijmegen, designed from a painting by Jan Van Goyen, shows a grand fortified castle overlooking the River Waal in a tranquil atmosphere with serene colors. On the river are several boats loaded with their crews. The sky is heavy with clouds in patches of blue. The brickwork on the castle shines golden in the light and creates a beautiful scene. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. Instead, we use a variety of solid colors to achieve a more realistic effect.
