This fine art counted cross stitch pattern, entitled The Dandelion Clock, designed from a painting by William John Hennessy, shows two little girls sitting on a grassy hill picking dandelion flowers. The children could not ask for a better day to do this, as the sun is shining and the weather is mild with a gentle breeze. In the distance, you can see a large body of water or a cove. One of the girls has removed her sunhat, and the other insists on wearing hers as her cheeks are becoming quite flushed. They are enjoying their carefree days out in the sun. Oh, to be young again! The artwork symbolizes the fragility of nature and how fleeting is the passage of time, which was a common theme in paintings during the Victorian era. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. Instead, we use a variety of solid colors to achieve a more realistic effect.
