This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Mother and Three Children designed from a painting by Francois-Louis de Metz shows a beautiful scene and bond between mother and child captured by the artist in an outdoor setting.  The colors used are soft pastels and show the mother holding two of her youngest children in each arm, while the eldest is leaning against her skirts looking up at the sight, probably wishing she were younger and could be lifted up to join her siblings in her mother’s embrace.  The color of the sky is a dreamy pale blue, and the other colors, which are muted, except for the vibrant green of the leaves on a vine, help to lull us into a beautiful, calming scene that helps us to feel the love and contentment between the mother and her children.  Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. Instead, we use a variety of solid colors to achieve a more realistic effect.
