This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Colonel Fitch and His Sisters designed from a painting by John Singleton Copley shows the Colonel standing near his horse in full army uniform while conversing with his two sisters, one in a white bridal gown and the other in a gown of mourning. The sisters reach out to him to touch his arm, each for different reasons. The bride's other hand reaches up to steady her veil to keep it from blowing in the wind. The Colonel has one hand on his horse's back to steady him and to make sure he will not become uneasy in the blustery wind. The sky is a deep blue with voluminous windswept clouds racing across the sky. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. Instead, we only use an abundance of solid colors to produce a more realistic effect.
