This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled A Capriccio View of Amsterdam designed from a painting by Cornelis Christiaan Dommelshuizen shows a beautiful idealized urban landscape where the artist blends realism with fantasy and creates a sense of warmth.  The sunlight brings luminosity to the scenery as it shines on the façade of the cathedral highlighting its beauty and architectural charm of the buildings.  One would hope to actually see instead of dream about such structures.  The sky takes on a cast of lavender hues mixed with yellow and white which is a combination rarely seen, but it makes the scene all the more interesting.  Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. We only use an abundance of solid colors to produce a more realistic effect.
