This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled The Alcove, Arley designed from a painting by George S. Elgood shows a lovely English garden alcove at Arley Hall in Cheshire, England. Here we see two tall decorative topiaries, a large dense garden hedge, and a wide variety of flowers in many colors. The sky has a yellowish cast to it, which gives off an air of warmth. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. We only use an abundance of solid colors to achieve a more realistic effect.
