This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled The Marquis de Sourches and his Family designed from a painting by Francois Hubert Drouais shows a family portrait done in Rococo style of Louis II du Bouchet and his family.  This is an outdoor setting, and the family is engaged in their favorite hobbies and pastimes.  The father is holding a violin; the son is playing a flute while the daughter is looking at a book with her mother, and the youngest is on his hobbyhorse.  An area of prominence is a large urn just off to the left used to create a bucolic serene environment where everyone is relaxed and enjoying themselves.  The colors are subtle yet rich in tone much like a tapestry of blended hues.  This is simply gorgeous!  Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. We only use an abundance of solid colors to produce a more realistic effect.
