This fine art counted cross stitch pattern, entitled The Sea Maid, designed from a painting by Arthur Hacker, shows a semi-nude young woman (the sea maid) walking on the hot sandy shore, approaching a shepherd with a seashell. The day is sunny; the sky is blue, and a faint, gentle breeze is blowing through the air, as we can tell by the maiden's hair blowing in the wind. While the exchange occurs, two of the shepherd's sheep can be seen wandering around the landscape. The shepherd's water flask can be seen lying on the ground near him, as his trips around the countryside with his sheep can generate severe thirst. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. Instead, we use a variety of solid colors to achieve a more realistic effect.
