This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Pelt Merchant of Cairo designed from a painting by Jean-Leon Gerome shows a man who sells animal pelts posing with a tiger pelt, in particular, that he is interested in selling. He has strategically stationed himself in a busy alley in the city and is leaning against the wall of a building to catch the eyes of passersby. He displays the pelt in one hand and a helmet in the other. This is a very beautiful scene to stitch, and the tiger pelt is very striking, and our attention is drawn to it. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. Instead, we use a variety of solid colors to achieve a more realistic effect.
