This religious counted cross stitch pattern entitled Noli Me Tangere designed from a painting by Antonio da Correggio makes evident a translation of the phrase "Noli Me Tangere" which means "Touch Me Not." The scene depicts Jesus just after his resurrection where he, with a slight motion of his hand, commands Mary Magdalene who had been kneeling at his feet not to touch him. The reason for this is because Jesus had not yet ascended to the Father which he told Mary Magdalene. Mary appears to be in a combined state of awe, confusion and euphoria as she is bearing witness to this holy event. If you notice, no crucifixion wounds are present on the body of Jesus. The scene takes place in a lush setting like a garden with lush shrubs and shade trees. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. Instead, we only use an abundance of solid colors to produce a more realistic effect.
