This vintage counted cross stitch pattern entitled Gorgeous Flappers shows two women who happen to be flappers. Flappers were women prominent in the 1920’s who threw away conventional rules and mores and instead adopted an attitude of freedom, liberation, and the desire to live on their own as single women not tied down by the idea of thinking the only way they could survive in life was with marriage to prominent men. The flappers often wore bobbed hair, makeup, fringed dresses, and were seen doing the Charleston dance. These two women in this scene look very glamorous indeed, and they are certainly worth the stitch! Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. Instead, we use a variety of solid colors to achieve a more realistic effect.
