This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Niagara, The Table Rock in Winter designed from a painting by Regis Francois Gignoux, shows the Horseshoe portion of the falls from the table rock platform view in the winter. The platform has since eroded and is no longer there. Here we see the sheer green ecstasy of the falls cascading in an endless curtain of water with birds flying overhead in the mist. There are frozen towers of ice that resemble stalagmites rising above the scenery, and brave figures are seen standing on the platform to get a closer look at the falls, which is breathtaking. Notice how close to the edge some of the figures are, which could be perilous if they slipped off the platform, and without a doubt, there would be no chance of survival. However, this scene of the falls is mesmerizing! Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. Instead, we use a variety of solid colors to achieve a more realistic effect.
