This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Lady Georgiana Cavendish designed from a painting by Thomas Gainsborough shows a formal portrait of The Duchess of Devonshire, Georgiana Cavendish, painted in 1780. She is wearing a large black hat adorned with ribbon and is holding pink roses. Lady Canvendish had a good sense of charm and wit and could handle herself in social or public situations. She married and became the wife of William Cavendish and is also a distant ancestor of Princess Diana. Privately, she led an unhappy married life, had a difficult relationship with her husband, and sank into gambling and debt with the vice of alcohol. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. Instead, we use a variety of solid colors to achieve a more realistic effect.
