This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Raoucha designed from a painting by Nasreddine Etienne Dinet shows a young Algerian woman who has more than likely just finished bathing and is in the process of dressing herself. Instead of promoting exoticism, the artist portrays a deep understanding and respect for the beauty, grace and strength of Algerian culture, and his fascination with the women made it possible for him to create such glorious representation of their culture. The women adorn their bodies with jewelry in vibrant colors and usually wear draped material in bright colors with veils partially shielding their face. The colors used in this scene are earthy and the sheen on the woman's skin is highlighted by the warmth of the golden sun. Such beautiful women deserve to be preserved on canvas. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. Instead, we only use an abundance of solid colors to produce a more realistic effect.
