This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Diadumene designed from a painting by Sir Edward John Poynter shows a woman in the nude standing by a pool in a bathhouse getting ready to get into the water. The patterns of color surrounding her are vivid, with intricate shapes and colors. The large pillars she is standing between help to dominate the scene and frame her body. Just before she enters the pool, she is seen tying up her hair with a ribbon. A large exotic bird is stationed by the edge of the pool. The young woman's clothing has been draped over a stand for her to use to get dressed when she is done bathing. Another woman is seen walking up a flight of steps carrying a large jug of water, perhaps warm water to take the chill from the pool. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. Instead, we use a variety of solid colors to achieve a more realistic effect.
