This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Beauties of the Swamps at Tulbagh, South Africa designed from a painting by Marianne North shows tall pink spikes of gladioli, a yellow/orange protea, and large white Zantedeschia aethiopica (calla lilies) growing in the wild.  In their natural habitat, they grow more vigorously and much taller than their sister plants elsewhere.  This scene is ripe with tropical delight and it probably produces an ideal climate for such beautiful tropical species.  The lush greenery around the flowers is very healthy.  If you love flowers, this pattern will make a dramatic impact on any wall you place this finished project.  It’s simply gorgeous!  Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. We only use an abundance of solid colors to produce a more realistic effect.
