This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled June Shower designed from a painting by Asher Brown Durand shows a gorgeous presentation of heavy rain showers in progress with large rain clouds hovering over mountains and the countryside.  In the sky we see many shades of blue dominating the sky from dark to almost white in certain areas, and the surreal striking colors of the field in gold and chartreuse are waiting for the impending downpour in lighter areas, and the land is becoming soaked with rainwater under a steady deluge in darker areas.  The lighting in the scene is beautiful and electrifying as noted by the way it outlines even the edges of the trees.  A farmer with his dog and wagon are parked near a large tree taking refuge until the downpour ends.  If you look closely at the meandering river snaking through the land, you can almost hear the staccato beat of the raindrops coming in contact with the surface water creating many splashes.  And soon, the entire area will be awash with plentiful rainwater meant to nurture, grow and maintain the vegetation.  If you love storms and weather in general captured on canvas, this is certainly worth the stitch!  Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. We only use an abundance of solid colors to produce a more realistic effect.
