This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Orestes Pursued by the Furies designed from a painting by William Adolphe Bouguereau shows, according to Greek Mythology, Orestes wearing a white draping to cover his manhood, and is seen covering his ears and being attacked by three Furies as they have made their voices loud and are striking him with physical force to punish him for murdering his mother.  The mother of Orestes, Clytemnestra, is pictured to the left apparently dead with a dagger sticking out of her chest, the dagger Orestes used to stab her.  This is a very dramatic scene sure to spark conversation if stitched, and it is one of Bouguereau's masterpieces.  Help bring this pattern to life by stitching it.  Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. We only use an abundance of solid colors as it produces a more realistic effect.
