This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled The Afternoon Visit, designed from a painting by Gustave Leonard de Jonghe, shows two women enjoying each other's company, whether it be a friend or a close relative, in an opulent setting of rich tapestry and furnishings.  The little girl is seen embracing the visitor.  We also notice the woman in the blue dress (the host) is possibly presenting some type of scarf or needlework she has stitched.  A magazine is seen lying on the floor to the left; perhaps it is something they were both perusing.  Whatever they were discussing, we will never know, but the scene is certainly worthy of stitching and placing it in an area of formal distinction.  Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. Instead, we use a variety of solid colors to achieve a more realistic effect.
