This religious counted cross stitch pattern entitled The Guardian Angel designed from a painting by Pietro da Cortona shows a male angel gently guiding a young child through the fatal snares of life to ensure his safety. The crack of light through the clouds indicates God's divine grace in the situation and the angel's role to act in a guardianship duty to protect the child. There is a lot of light and dark contrast in colors and the lightest colors emanate from the angel himself. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. Instead, we only use an abundance of solid colors to produce a more realistic effect.
