This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled The Angel and the Mother designed from a painting by Anne-Francois-Louis Janmot shows a mother holding her infant child in her arms while an angel kneels and lifts her hands to the heavens in prayer for them. This is taking place in a field where a river is located in the distance. It is felt that the artist is uniting this description with the annunciation of the Virgin Mary when the angel visited Mary to let her know that she would give birth to God's son, Jesus Christ. The plants indicate that this is happening in seasonal late autumn, and their coloring provides splashes of autumn colors to the scene. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. We only use an abundance of solid colors as it produces a more realistic effect.
