This fine art counted cross-stitch pattern entitled Ludwig Tieck Sitting for Sculptor David d'Angers designed from a painting by Carl Christian Vogel von Vogelstein shows a celebrated writer sitting comfortably in a brightly lit artist studio surrounded by onlookers while a sculptor works on his portrait bust. You can almost catch the dusty scent of fresh wet clay and dried oil paint drifting through the high-arched windows. Of note are the streams of natural light beaming down from the window on the marble bust and figures. All of the artists involved are trying to get the most accurate depiction of their subject, and it requires patience. Our patterns use only full cross stitches. No blended colors are used. Instead, we use a variety of solid colors to achieve a more realistic effect.
