This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Day and the Dawnstar designed from a painting by Herbert James Draper shows the transition from dawn to day in the form of romance of a loving couple. In this scene, the male figure represents day, and the woman represents the dawnstar where the sun's rays absorb dawn when day arrives. This artwork was created during the Victorian era as a lot of Victorians during that time were fascinated with mythology. The colors are earth tones in brown, tan, ecru, beige, and shades of gray with burgundy and grape. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. We only use an abundance of solid colors to produce a more realistic effect.
