This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Sea Nymphs designed from a painting by Henri Pierre Picou shows a graceful goddess reclining within a giant, scalloped sea shell as she is guided through cresting turquoise waves by playful cherubs and a diving nymph. In creating this piece, Picou wanted to emphasize the ethereal, romantic spirit of classical mythology, finding inspiration in the fluid movement and soft light of a fantasy seascape. The visual palette is a beautiful collection of luminous ocean greens, airy sky blues, and delicate pastel pinks, beautifully balanced by the soft skin tones and pearlescent whites of the central figures. This pattern is for lovers of French Academic art and mythological themes who appreciate the masterly way light can glisten across moving water. The scene captures the breezy, magical atmosphere of an oceanic voyage, where the whimsical cherubs and dramatic waves create a feeling of pure bliss.  Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. Instead, we use a variety of solid colors to achieve a more realistic effect.
