This vintage counted cross stitch pattern entitled Mother Swan and Her Babies shows a mother swan swimming in the lake with her babies. Across the way we can see an overgrowth of trees, a mansion, and a garden gazebo near the grove used for reflection. The mother swan seems to be testing the darker waters cautiously before letting her young ones swim in that direction. In any case, it’s a lovely overcast day for the swans as they seem to have the lake all to themselves. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. We only use an abundance of solid colors as it produces a more realistic effect.
