This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Portrait of Marie Paterno designed from a painting by Friedrich von Amerling shows a portrait of the artist's fourth and last wife.  She is dressed in a gold and black-banned headdress with red velvet ties and veil.  Around her neck she wears several strings of pearls, and her dress is carmine in color and appears to be velvet.  Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. We only use an abundance of solid colors as it produces a more realistic effect.
