This fine art counted cross stitch patter entitled Women Selling Water & Oranges on the Road to Heliopolis designed from a painting by Felix Auguste Clement shows two women on the side of the road selling water and oranges, anything to survive. They look quite weary as they do not seem to be getting many takers on their goods. However, oranges were considered a luxury in ancient times and water is always priceless for a weary traveler. The colors are largely rich in earth tones, and the scene is very large. It would be wise to place this finished project in an area of distinction and it will dominate the wall with its beauty, and rightly so! Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. Instead, we only use an abundance of solid colors to produce a more realistic effect.
