This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Ancient Ruins Used as Public Baths designed from a painting by Hubert Robert shows several figures relaxing around a grand stone fountain nestled within the towering, sun-drenched arches of a decaying classical bathhouse.  The humid, stone-cooled air carries the gentle scent of splashing mineral water, wet moss, and dry sun-baked limestone, capturing the magnificent Roman arcade in its glory. Like me, you will be captivated by the way the brilliant sunlight pours through the massive colonnades to pierce the dark, vaulted ceilings, rendering the immense architectural scale, which is an amazing thing to see.  Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. Instead, we use a variety of solid colors to achieve a more realistic effect.
