This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Cupid and Hymen designed from a painting by Alfred Stevens shows, according to Greek Mythology, Hymen who is appearing as a woman representing the god of marriage ceremonies, celebration and song, and Cupid is attending her at her side. Hymen is carrying a single plume of white flowers and is dressed in an elaborate wedding gown in traditional white. Her hair is adorned with a crown of flowers, and her veil billows in the breeze. She and Cupid are standing under a tree with white and ice pink blossoms. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. Instead, we use a variety of solid colors to achieve a more realistic effect.
