This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled The Water Nymph designed from a painting by Herbert James Draper shows a mythical creature called a water nymph that is sitting on top of a large lily pad in a pond that has tints of azure and deep purple.  In addition, the surface of the water is covered with white flower petals, and the nearby tall grasses and reeds form a protective natural barrier between the nymph and the outside world.  The atmosphere is serene and there is a feeling of relaxation, calm and tranquility. The nymph is completely nude and is comfortable in her surroundings, but woe to the man who encounters her (according to Greek mythology) as any such meeting could be quite dangerous as water nymphs have been known to use their charm and beauty to lure men to their watery death.  Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. We only use an abundance of solid colors to produce a more realistic effect.
