This fine art counted cross-stitch pattern entitled Lady Jane Elizabeth Digby designed from a painting by Joseph Karl Stieler shows an aristocrat with golden ringlets wearing a dark gown with teal accents against a draped curtain and distant landscape. Lady Jane Elizabeth Digby was an English aristocrat born in 1807. Renowned for her striking beauty and independent lifestyle, she lived a colorful life that defied the societal expectations of her era. Her portrait was painted by Joseph Karl Stieler in 1831 for inclusion in King Ludwig I of Bavaria's famous Gallery of Beauties at Nymphenburg Palace. She traveled extensively throughout Europe and the Middle East, living a life of romance and adventure until she died in Damascus in 1881. Our patterns use only full cross stitches. No blended colors are used. Instead, we use a variety of solid colors to achieve a more realistic effect.
