This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Avenue at Meerdervoort designed from a painting by Aelbert Cuyp shows an unusual combination of environments with urban life and rural landscape together in one scene.  The scene includes people standing along the avenue that leads to the Meerdervoort Castle on the distant left with farmland and a cow crossing the avenue.  On the right side of the avenue, urban life is evident by the presence of city buildings, a windmill and the Maas River.  This would be an interesting project to stitch because of these uncommon qualities.  Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. Instead, we only use an abundance of solid colors to produce a more realistic effect.
