This landscape counted cross stitch pattern entitled Fog in a Birch Forest shows the fog invading a forest creating dark shadows that are both foreboding yet beautiful. The whiteness of the birch trees lights up the scene like spotted lampposts, while the shadows created by the fog in the upper areas of the trees create a swirling, smoky look. Nevertheless, the scene reminds me of a gothic landscape. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. Instead, we use a variety of solid colors to achieve a more realistic effect.
