This landscape counted cross-stitch pattern entitled Modern Day Dickensia by Tracey Marvel Kramer shows a rather charmingly dreary city with the sky at dawn framing the skyline. The city is asleep and has not woken up yet. The large tower clock sets the mood, surrounded by somber tones. I would expect to see men donning powdered wigs and carrying satchels or briefcases in hand, scurrying about like mice. Charles Dickens would have felt right at home here. Our patterns use only full cross stitches. No blended colors are used. Instead, we use a variety of solid colors to achieve a more realistic effect.
