This New England counted cross stitch pattern entitled The Goodspeed Opera House shows a large three-story fancy-looking house painted in white. The Goodspeed Opera House, built in 1876 by William Goodspeed, is actually not an opera house, but was used as a place for dramas and plays. Later on, the opera house fell into disrepair, but was refurbished and used for other purposes such as a military base during World War 1, a storage facility for the Department of Transportation, and believe it or not, a general store. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. We only use an abundance of solid colors as it produces a more realistic effect.
