This fine art counted cross-stitch pattern entitled Persephone, designed from a painting by Dante Gabriel Rossetti shows a lovely dark brown-haired woman named Persephone (Proserpine is the Roman version of her name) holding a pomegranate in her hand, of which she has taken a single bite, which has set her destiny to spend eternity as a prisoner in the underworld. She is wearing a grayish gown in draped fashion. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. Instead, we use a variety of solid colors to achieve a more realistic effect.
